Exorcisms are obviously a fertile ground for found footage inspiration. It isn’t far-flung to imagine a complicated, secretive ritual being recorded for posterity or profit. A slew of lesser versions exist but THE LAST EXORCISM stands out as a prime example. An evangelic minister who has lost his faith sets out to disprove the validity of exorcisms by performing them and healing those involved from what he perceives as mental illness. Burnt out, the minister brings in a pair of filmmakers to document his last exorcism—only to have it unexpectedly become the real deal! [NH] Brattle Debut
