Lakshman, and Dr. Padma Subramanyam, alongside original works created by the dancer herself.Like a flowing river that carries its source forward while embracing new landscapes, Dhārā reflects the living tradition of Bharatanatyam—where the wisdom of the guru, the devotion of the disciple, and the spirit of creativity merge into a continuous stream. Through each piece, the audience is invited to journey across time, witnessing how heritage is preserved, reimagined, and lovingly passed from one generation to the next.Join us for an evening where tradition flows seamlessly into the present, devotion finds expression through movement, and echoes of the past continue to inspire the future.About SrijaSrija Wang is a Bharatanatyam artist, choreographer, educator, and founder of Nrityaarpana School of Bharatanatyam. Her artistic practice is dedicated to preserving the integrity of Bharatanatyam while exploring intercultural dialogue through historically informed performance, research, and choreography. Through her work, she seeks to deepen public understanding of shared cultural heritage, movement traditions, and artistic exchanges across Asia.​Srija has trained in the Kalakshetra style of Bharatanatyam since 2015 under Guru Smt. Vanishree Ravishankar and Guru Kalaimamani Smt. Roja Kannan. In 2023, she began studying Karanas under the direct guidance of Dr. Padma Subramanyam, completing her formal karana training in 2025 and continuing advanced choreography studies through Dr. Padma Subramanyam’s Nrtya Sangraha program. She completed her Bharatanatyam arangetram in Chennai, India, in 2023 and continues to travel to India for advanced training in dance, music, and related artistic disciplines. In October 2023, Srija founded Nrityaarpana School of Bharatanatyam where she passes down her knowledge to next generation of dancers.​Her choreographic work draws upon Bharatanatyam, Buddhist artistic traditions, poetry, mythology, and intercultural research. Recent works have explored themes of nature, spirituality, and embodied storytelling through movement and expression. She has performed in both India and the United States and has created original choreographies for students and community productions through her dance school and artistic initiatives.Srija is currently developing Kalāsangama, an interdisciplinary dance production inspired by the Buddhist murals of the Mogao Caves and the historical cultural exchanges between India and China through Buddhism and the Silk Road. She has been passionately training Kalakshetra style bharatanatyam since 2015.Being a non Indian and didn’t have opportunity to learn this dance in her childhood, it was passion that drove her to dig deeper into the language, culture, mythological stories and she has been to India many times to train.In December 2021, Srija was invited to perform at the Margazhi Matram in Chennai organized by Dr. Ranjini Ramachander Kaushik and Roja Kannan and her performed earned  appreciation among the Rasikas in Chennai.She has been actively participating in festival performances as well as competitions in and around the Boston area USA. In February 2024, she organized her first production featuring herself and 3 other local dancers honoring Sri Adyar K Lashman’s legacy and choreography.In August 2023, Srija completed her arangetram under Guru Smt. Vanishree in Chennai. She has since opened her own dance school- Nrityaarpana school of Bharatanatyam and started teaching."
