In this social, discussion-driven class we’ll delve into alternative ways of generating art. After a brief movement warm-up for all, we’ll delve into co-creation. This is a low-stakes way for creatives (poets and dancers) to meet and collaborate on the spot through a variety of prompts. Artists will contribute with their chosen craft and have a chance to be inspired by other types of artists. We’ll have the opportunity to reflect and embody the prompts of the day through guided improvisation and group collaborations led by power duo Angie Benitez and Noah Phoenix.This workshop is offered TWO DAYS ONLY at The Foundry as part of our weekend workshop Dance, Discover, Develop. These workshops can be taken a la carte, or mix & match for a mini-intensive experience. The day will start with our classic pro-level class, “Class with the Click”, then we’ll head outside for some sun & snacks before the next open-level class, “Creative Cross-Training” designed for anyone with an open-mind excited to create or collaborate between artistic genres. Make sure to bring your sunscreen & a towel! Any questions or concerns about class registration should be sent to bostonclicknotclique@gmail.com.ABOUT ANGIE:Angelina Benitez graduated from Salem State University in 2018 with a B.A in Modern/Contemporary Dance and returned in 2025 as a guest artist in residence. Much of her work derives from play, queer joy, and her nonbinary, biracial life experience. They are a dedicated teaching artist to movers of truly all ages in the Greater Boston area, from toddlers to seniors. She is a member of Human Movement Project and a co-founding member of a contemporary dance collective, The Click. She has shared her work at VERSE / VISUAL, Roots & Routes, Dancing Queerly, Salem Arts Festival, and 24 Hour ChoreoFest. When she’s not teaching dance or putting her Grounded Aerial Bungee certification to use, you can find her writing poetry, working as a social media strategist, creating fiber art, and meditating with her plants.
