We’re kicking things off with a Blind Tasting Seminar led by Scott Eckart on Saturday, December 13, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
Old World vs. New World 🍷
Same grape, different story.
Old World wines (France, Italy, Spain…) lean earthy, lighter, and all about where they’re grown.
New World wines (U.S., Argentina, Australia) show more ripeness, fruit, and warmth.
Think Riesling from Germany vs. Riesling from the Finger Lakes, or Cabernet from Bordeaux vs. California.
The difference?
Structure, tannin, oak, even yeast, all shaped by place and tradition.
You’ll taste through four mystery wines using the Court of Master Sommeliers tasting grid, a simple, structured way to sharpen your senses and pick up on what’s in your glass.
It’s fun, interactive, and sneakily educational 😈 perfect for a date night, a night out with friends, or anyone who loves discovering something new in their glass.
