Custom Rod Builder, Ryan Waltz will be on hand to help you complete your very own custom spinning rod for only $75. If you are not able to arrive by 5 PM, please text 563-212-0955 when you sign up to let us know when you are able to arrive. This project will take around 3 hours depending on skill level, but rods must stay overnight, to be picked up at a future time for the epoxy to harden on the spinners.
The kits have a 6.5 foot, 8-15lb. white spinning rod with a reel included! This is a great option for largemouth bass and small mouth bass, along with deep water walleye and inshore applications. You can also choose a decal as well to make your rod, even more unique!
Lighting ~ You may want to bring your own desk lamp or head lamp for better lighting.
Magnification ~ If you have "cheaters" or something that can magnify things, it may make things easier on you.
Thumbnails ~ Grow out your thumbnails a bit to help push thread together.
Food and beverages ~ Bring your own food and drink (can be alcoholic if that is what you would like and are 21 years or older)
Bring small bills if you would like to purchase somethings from the campstore. I can not make change as I do not want to open the register.
Timing ~ some people have nimble fingers, others do not. Some people are "crafty", some are not. Some people are perfectionists, others are not. So it depends on how long this will take you. Most people will be done by 8pm if you arrived by 5. We will stay for however long it takes.
Children ~ Must have an adult present, they do not have to pay, fee is only for the rod. 12 is probably the youngest that should do this as it is somewhat tedious. You know your child the best to know if they can stay focused for 3 hours on one project. Sometimes it is helpful if an adult and child pair up to do it together. So when the child needs a break, the adult can step in and thread a guide. I would suggest that both do not build a rod. Fourteen is young as I would go for a child to build their own rod. Use your own discretion. Must be 16 to be there without an adult.
