Ecstatic Dance is a freeform, un-choreographed conscious dance practice and community gathering where we are encouraged to move authentically to a lovingly curated musical journey. It is a space for self-expression, emotional release, mind-body connection and play, in a safe, non-judgmental, and substance-free environment. 

**Core Principles and Atmosphere**

**The Experience**

We will flow through a 'wave' of music which will guide us through various emotional and energetic states, beginning with a gentle landing, building up to a cathartic climax, before then grounding back down to stillness. We will close with a circle. 

- No Talking. Talking is discouraged on the dance floor. Sighing and other sounding is welcomed.

- Shoes off - Dancing is typically done barefoot to help us feel grounded and connected to the earth/floor, and for safety. You're invited to leave your shoes at the door.

- Alcohol free 
This is a sober space. We will have a cacao available for those who want. Cacao is a natural heart opener and

- All movement is welcome
We will create a non-judgemental space. The focus is internal—on how you feel, not how you look. You do not need dance experience!

- Respect Boundaries and Consent
Please respect your own and others' personal space. 

- No Phones/Cameras 
Phones are generally put away and photography/videography is prohibited to ensure privacy and full immersion in the experience. 

- Children
Children in arms are welcome. I hope to do some family dances where all children are welcomed in, however to begin with this one is unfortunately not open to bigger children. I feel strongly to welcome them, however I feel for this type of space, it feels important to have a clear culture for them to relate to and know what we expect of them. To begin with I wish to focus on building this culture, of a non-verbal, embodied and focussed space, with the hope to welcome them into that in the future <3

**Getting there**

We will be using Whitchurch Community Hall, near Tavistock, there is on street parking along one side of the road. Please park considerately, tucking in and using the side towards the moor, to leave space for residents.
