Learn how to process your own backyard poultry hosted by the 4-H Homesteaders Club!
Supplies, including birds, will be provided to all participants to take you through all the steps of this farm to table project. Parents are welcome to audit and assist youth members but the priority goal is to help teach youth members these skills to take their homesteading and animal science knowledge to the next level.
No prior experience is required. Ages 8 and up. $40 per youth registered participant. Tickets open Jan 15th!
Registration is "by bird", meaning if siblings each want to process a bird they must register individually. If a family is sharing a bird to process as a group, they may register under one youth. Youth younger than 8 may not participate.
Spots will be open to 4-H members first until March 1st, where then FFA and non-member youth will be eligible to sign up if spots are not filled.
Safety will be our upmost priority. Youth are expected to arrive with long pants, closed-toe shoes, and active listening ears. Youth who are disruptive may be asked to leave.
Farm address will be shared with participants after registration to ensure privacy and safety of our host farm, but we can share that the farm is located in Hilliard Florida.
