- **Event Description**: On April 25th, join the US Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Russell for our 36th annual kids fishing derby at the Banks Fishing area.About this EventThe US Army Corps of Engineers has partnered with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, stocking an area of Lake Russell (Bank Fishing Area) with catfish to guarantee a fun filled morning of fishing for youth. Registration for this event is required to attend and is limited to 100 children between the ages of 5 - 15 years old. Bringing your own gear, equipment, and bait is highly recommended. Sign in will begin at 7:00 am with fishing soon after. We will take turns fishing in groups and continue until lunch time. All registered kids will get a free lunch. Lunch options for others will be available at a $5.00 charge per person. During lunch, we will have a water safety discussion and draw prizes.
