I am so very happy to make this announcement!  The Calhoun Falls Senior Connection Center is ready to kick off their Senior Breakfasts!  The first date will be Thursday, July 16th at 9 AM-11 AM at the Calhoun Falls Church of God Recreation Hall beside the Church at 100 Greenwood St. Calhoun Falls, SC.  I am asking that everyone join us every Thursday for breakfast and fellowship.  If you are a senior and need a ride please let us know and we will try and accommodate.  

The cost for seniors is $6 and for anyone under 60 will be $8.  This will include scrambled eggs, grits, sausage, bacon, Coffee and tea.  I am asking for some fruit (like a fruit salad) and juice to be donated.

This Senior Center is not currently funded by any association so I am asking for the following donations going forward plus I want to change up the menu a little every week:

Eggs

Coffee

Juice

Fruit or Fruit salad

Sugar (the kind in pourable containers)

Coffee Creamer (the kind in pourable containers)

Sweet and low (or other sugar alternative packets)

Sausage patties

Bacon

Butter pats

Pancake mix (complete only needing water added)

Syrup packets 

Bisquits (homemade is great)

Sausage gravy

We are also asking for a weekly donation of $25 for the rental of the hall.

Any donation is greatly appreciated and we are hoping the cost of the meals collected each week is going to be enough to cover all costs going forward so we can lessen the donations needed going forward.

I need 7 volunteers weekly for serving, helping seniors at tables as needed, registering people that come in, any help making things run smooth and able to come at 8 am and stay until Noon to help make sure everything is cooked for opening and staying to help clean up hall when we are finished serving breakfast.

I am also looking for 3-5 people to join a board of directors that oversee the working of the center and the financials so there is no doubt where the donated money and weekly cost of meals is being used for.  I am thinking only a monthly meeting will be need for the Board of Directors.i  I am also currently looking for available grants so we are not solely dependent on donations to keep this going.
