- **Event Description**: Join us to explore the importance of regional art writing in shaping Canadian cultural conversations.About this EventAs part of the opening weekend for the The Illingworth Kerr Gallery's exhibition An Alberta A(r)ttitude, IKG hosts a conversation with Joy Xiang, Editor of C Magazine; Levin Ifko, a Calgary-based emerging writer whose work has appeared in Akimbo, Galleries West, and CBC Arts; and Tom Tait, former Publisher of Galleries West. Moderated by IKG curator Tak Pham.By bringing together editors, writers, and publishers who have directly influenced the field, the panel will revisit the recent history of art publishing in the region and offer both historical insights and innovative strategies to establish sustainable platforms for critical dialogue.This discussion underscores the gallery’s dedication to supporting Alberta’s culture of thoughtful discourse and aims to show emerging writers that their voices are vital to the province’s creative future.About the exhibition:For 100 years, Alberta University of the Arts has held a vital role as a hub of creative exploration in Alberta.
