- **Event Description**: A reflective ceramic workshop where your New Year self-care takes shape in a ceramic box you’ll use every day.About this EventA Box for Self Care (新年泥好盒) is a Lunar New Year–inspired ceramic workshop that invites participants to reflect on care, intention, and personal grounding through conversation and hands-on making.Rooted in Lunar New Year symbolism, this workshop draws on red-toned imagery and traditional porcelain motifs to explore themes of protection, renewal, and emotional continuity. Rather than centering productivity or goal-setting, the session creates space for slowing down, quiet reflection, and shared presence.Participants will paint and decorate their own ceramic box, inspired by traditional porcelain surface language. The box becomes a personal container — for small objects, written intentions, or daily rituals — transforming reflection into a functional object that lives within everyday life after firing. This workshop is part of Circle of Hope, an ongoing mental wellbeing series by Mao Projects x Diversecities, hosted by The New Gallery, and supported by the Chinatown Activation Grant and the Calgary Foundation.Note: This activity is co-facilitated by Mao Projects and Diversecities.
