Along the main 10-acre public pathway, you'll discover contemporary artworks through stories, historical anecdotes, and insights into the artists and the Centre's founding vision. When time permits, the tour extends into the woodland sculptures and founders' gardens for an even deeper exploration of this unique art-in-nature destination.The focus of the Sculpture Park’s distinguished collection of Canadian and European modern and contemporary sculpture is large abstract works and cast concrete or bronze works from the 1960s to the present. The goal is to preserve and showcase important, quality works of art, and to invite the public to experience and celebrate the relationship between sculpture and nature.WHAT TO BRING:As the tour is entirely outdoors, please dress appropriately for the weather, including water, sunscreen and bug spray if the weather is hot and sunny, and an umbrella or raincoat if things are not so sunny. You may choose to walk through some tall grasses so please dress appropriately. The tour will take you through open fields and some wooded paths so please wear comfortable and appropriate footwear; closed-toed shoes are recommended.The Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre is a place for art and artists, for the curious, for the novice and for the expert alike – everyone is welcome to visit, to make, to learn and to talk about contemporary art, whether by traversing our sculpture grounds and gardens, or visiting with our artists in studio during public programs and workshops.We recommend a $25 donation per person for guided tours of the sculpture park. These contributions directly support KOAC’s ongoing work with artists, audiences, and communities, while also helping us care for and maintain the sculpture park grounds as a space for connection, reflection, and engagement with art in nature.At the same time, we believe access to art and nature should remain welcoming and accessible.
