regions: Napa and Sonoma

Step back in time and fast-forward to the future with CAPSTONE California: Revisiting Classic Regions. Guided by acclaimed educator and Master of Wine student Devin Rigaux, this two-hour master class invites trade and media to explore Napa and Sonoma through the lens of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon—the varieties that put California on the global map. Under the overarching theme “100 Million Years in the Making,” we’ll uncover how ancient geology shaped today’s vineyards while tasting a selection of benchmark wines that reveal a fresh, modern take on these classics. From heritage styles to innovative new expressions, the session will trace where Napa and Sonoma have been and where they are boldly headed next.

Attendees will be offered complimentary links to Capstone Levels 1 & 2, a value of $550 USD.
