Her sculptures transform objects from scientific, medical, military, and spiritual contexts into reliquary-like forms that symbolize broader belief systems and power structures. By combining found materials with handcrafted ones—such as enamel, glass, metal, and leather—her installations often appear suspended, balanced by cables and architectural frameworks. These works incorporate transient elements such as heat, light, and scent, hinting at transformation and decay, while symmetrical shapes highlight dualities in perception and storytelling. Though open to multiple interpretations, her works suggest thresholds or portals between states of being.Born in Red Deer, Alberta, in 1985, Cameron-Weir lives and works in New York. Recent solo exhibitions include Dressing for Windows (Exploded View) at SCAD Museum of Art (2022) and STAR CLUB REDEMPTION BOOTH at the Henry Art Gallery (2021).
