50 HR Yogic, Sound & Movement Meditation Teacher Training, 5 February | Event in Calgary | AllEvents.in 50 HR Yogic, Sound & Movement Meditation Teacher Training
This training provides an overview and exploration of meditation as presented in various yogic practices including Classical Yoga, Tantra Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga. A deepening of meditation will be experienced through mantra, japa mantra, and sound, which have been an important aspect of yoga practice since Vedic times. Yogic meditation explores the state of unity or oneness that one seeks when one follows the yogic path towards liberation or union with the Divine.

Intentional sound is a powerful meditation tool and this training will be an introduction to the potential sound holds as a tool for use in your own mindfulness practice.

This training also provides a rare look into the most common pitfalls that a lack of mindfulness of the voice can cause in the yoga and meditation classroom. Yoga and meditation are not necessarily visual mediums; it’s your voice which guides your students through their practice. It’s the conduit through which you teach; this training will show you how to speak more authentically, speak in a safer way, and make your voice ultimately listenable.

THE FIRST WEEKEND OF THIS MODULE WILL BE OFFERED ONLINE ONLY DUE TO THE LATEST AHS RESTRICTIONS.

THE SECOND WEEKEND OF THIS MODULE CAN BE TAKEN IN STUDIO OR VIRTUALLY ON ZOOM, PROVIDED THAT THE AHS RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED.

IN STUDIO SPOTS FOR THE SECOND WEEKEND ARE LIMITED SO PLEASE CONTACT US TO LET US KNOW WHICH OPTION YOU PREFER.

TEACHERS

Kristen Stuart
With 15 years of experience sharing the teachings of yoga, Kristen Stuart's dedication, intention, and commitment has proven to be a constant source of strength and illumination, supporting others to awaken to their own radiant selves. Energized from the wild and dynamic surroundings of the Great Canadian Rockies, Kristen draws inspiration from reverence and play with Mama Earth and her own deep studentship. Her gift is guiding others towards their passion, purpose, and powerful presence in life. While infusing the ancient wisdom and time-tested practices of yoga, Kristen challenges students and clients towards a higher consciousness and connection on the mat, in their lives, and in their hearts. Kristen focuses on artful alignment, creative sequencing, nervous system support and endocrine system balance. Her studies in yoga have explored various disciplines over the past 15 years that flavor her teaching from the tradition and flow of Ashtanga, the alignment intelligence of Anusara, to the fascial release and energy medicine science of Yin. She is also certified in Yoga Nidra with the School of Sankalpa and as a KRI Level One Kundalini Teacher. As she expands her offerings with Yoga Nidra and Kundalini Yoga, Kristen aims to open others to the depth and vastness of subtle body study, neural re-programming and a rich multi-faceted yoga journey. The past few years have been fertile ground for enriching her awareness of the human experience and expanding her studies in yoga psychology, meditation, and shamanic medicine, to support the embodiment of these ancient teachings and their capacity for profound healing.

Tiffany Sparrow, BMT, MTA
Tiffany Sparrow is an accredited music therapist, singer-songwriter, kirtan artist and yogi. She currently specializes in music therapy at bedside in medical settings, weaving the power of music with breath, movement and meditation to facilitate pain reduction, emotional balance, relaxation and wellness. Sparrow studied yoga and mantra in India, obtaining her 500hr yoga teaching certificate in Akhanda Yoga through Yogrishi Vishvketu as well as recording two mantra/kirtan albums with local traditional musicians. She has traveled extensively around the world and brings her awareness of global music and holistic spiritual and health practices to her work as a clinician and educator.

Allison Smith
Allison Smith is an internationally-known voice talent, who specializes in voicing telephone systems and AI platforms.
She is also a life-long yoga practitioner, and has an endless fascination with human speech: how we say what we say.
It became clear to her — through her years of practicing yoga — that very little emphasis is put on yoga teacher’s training on the *quality* of the voice, and that few things can disrupt an otherwise strong yoga teaching paradigm as repetitive, bad speech habits, upspeak, vocal fry, or an artificial “sweetening” or “raising” of the vocal register — even unconsciously adopting a “character” as you enter the studio to teach. In the Finding Your Voice workshop, Allison provides a rare look into the most common pitfalls that a lack of mindfulness of the voice can cause in the yoga classroom. Yoga is not necessarily a visual medium; it’s your voice which guides your students through their practice. It’s the conduit through which you teach; the Finding Your Voice workshop will show you how to speak more authentically, speak in a safer way, and make your voice ultimately listenable.
Your students will be more engaged; your voice will experience less strain; and your yoga teaching will be enhanced and forever expanded.
