2019 Year of the Pig - Chinatown BIA Chinese New Year Banquet
Come join the Chinatown District Business Improvement Area (CDBIA) as we celebrate the 4717 lunar new year and the 'Year of the Pig'. As a symbol of wealth, fortune and happiness, those born in this year (1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, and 2019) have a beautiful personality and are blessed with good fortune in life.
This year, the CDBIA is bringing in the Lunar New Year with a traditional 10-course Chinese New Year banquet at the Regency Palace atop the Dragon City Mall on Wednesday February 6, 2019. The banquet meal will be a delictable and traditional treat of seafood, poultry, vegatable, rice and noodles.
As an added special this year, the CDBIA is hosting ice carving exhibits by 3 world-class ice carvers from China and Canada. Banquet ticket holders are invited before dinner to the Chinatown's Ice Sculpture Showcase (CISS) of ice sculptures, carvings and festival lights at James Short Park (4th Avenue / Centre Street) starting at 5pm. A demonstration of the intricate art of ice carving will also be hosted at the lobby of the banquet starting at 5:45 pm.
For special banquet requests including vegatarian only meals, please call us at 403-668-9798.
We're looking forward to seeing you at CISS and the CNY Banquet!
