In this beloved Czech adaptation of the Cinderella story, a spirited and independent young woman named Popelka (Cinderella) is mistreated by her stepmother and stepsister. When she receives three magical hazelnuts from an owl, each grants her a wish and a beautiful outfit. Unlike the traditional tale, this Cinderella is an excellent horse rider and archer who wins the prince's heart through her courage and skill, not just her beauty.
