CONSECRATION FOR THE ADVENT SEASON: LOVE COMES DOWN
Exodus 18 : 14-15 -14 So Moses went down to the people. He consecrated them for worship, and they washed their clothes. 15 He told them, “Get ready for the third day, and until then abstain from having sexual intercourse.”
God is holy, and drawing near to Him is both gift and responsibility.
Holiness isn’t casual; it asks something of us.
Preparation matters.
God invites His people into intentional spiritual readiness—clean hands and a focused heart.
Boundaries protect, not imprison.
God’s restrictions around the mountain safeguarded the people from harm.
Even good earthly activities can be set aside for sacred encounters.
The abstinence command highlights the importance of undistracted devotion.
God desires relationship—but on His terms, not ours.
Meeting Him is transformative, and it requires reverence, humility, and preparation.
