A recurring series focused on local, up-and-coming artists we love—and think you should hear too. Neat Underground is about community, creativity, and catching artists early. Intimate shows, good vibes, and a space that’s safe, welcoming, and all about the music. Come support local. Come hang. Come discover your new favourite artist. We have limited dinner reservations with staggered ordering times between 5:30 and 6:45. All of our guests that choose "ticket with dinner reservation" are welcome anytime after 5:30 on show nights. On show nights our regular lunch menu is not available. Our kitchen serves our wood fired pizza along with homemade show night specials, between the times of 5:30 and 7:00 to ensure you have time to eat before the show starts. We will do our best to feed all of our guests in a timely fashion from our small homestyle kitchen. When fully booked the dinner option will not be available in the show night selection box. JAMES LECLAIRE PLAY VIDEO - MY RENFREW DAYS PLAY VIDEO - IF EVER James Leclaire James Leclaire is a Canadian based singersongwriter who mixes folk, rock, classic country, roots, and blues to conjure up his own unique style of storytelling. Although his music often pulls from the hardships of life, whether it be relationships, addictions, inner demons, or depression, his gravely voice cuts a deep feeling of hope and determination. Whether his songs are layered thick with allegories and metaphors or straightforward and direct, James’ songs resonate relatability and realism. Storytelling has always been at the forefront of James' life. On Oct 1st, 2025, after a successful career in animation as a storyboard artist, director, writer, series creator, and studio co/founder of Jam Filled Entertainment, James took the leap to pursue his lifelong passion of songwriting and performing full time. Building up to this integral moment, James recorded 38 songs from 2020-2023 at Bova Sound with Phillip Victor Bova producing. It was here that James was finally able to take his music to the next level. For certain tracks, Phillip was able to bring on harmonicist Mickey Raphael (Nelson/Stapleton/Dylan), guitarist/mandolinist Kevin Breit (Norah Jones), drummer Ed Toth (Doobie Bros.) and Juno nominated pianist and guitarist John Fraser Findlay. James started releasing singles from these sessions monthly in August 2023. The first 10 compiled to become his 2024 album Come On In, the next 11 became 2025's Self Deconstruction, while the singles continue to be released to form his 2026 album The Deal and a January 2027 EP, Pull Yourself Free. “James tackles different kinds of inner thought and a little bit of struggle, a little heartbreak, and more but this all adds to the realness and gives him that human touch” - Buzzslayers “Self Deconstruction isn’t just an album you listen to — it’s one you feel.
