The Portrait in Situation | Workshop by Denis Dailleux
THE PORTRAIT IN SITUATION by Denis Dailleux
Cairo Photo Week 2021 is delighted to bring to you the internationally acclaimed French photographer Denis Dailleux. The photographer who visualized Egypt like it's own people.
(This workshop comes in support of the French Institute in Cairo).
The general theme of the workshop will be how to take a portrait in natural light without adding a light source.
This workshop aims to optimize the relationship between the photographer and his model: choice of frame, light and the timing: a photographic process that Denis Dailleux observes and understands in others as well as in himself.
In a genre where he excels, in Portraiture in Situation, he offers a balance between understanding the subject and the place chosen for the photograph. An approach so perfectly mastered by Denis Dailleux that it is today impossible to dissociate his portraits from the countries which inspired them, as evidenced by his photographs taken in Cairo or more recently in Ghana.

Day 2: Shooting under his guidance.
day 3: Shooting day (project assignment).
