In September 2024 Greene County Fire and Rescue responded to an incident involving a refrigerated
container on fire. While on scene an explosion ocurred where Battallion Chief Chris Eddy lost his life in
the line of duty. Since this incident Chief Wiggins of Greene County Fire and Rescue has made it his mission to keep other first responders safe by teaching the hazards that are often overlooked when working incidents involving these containers
