We warmly invite all new families to attend an Information Session focused on Cairns State High School’s BYOx program, along with an introduction to the range of Student Support Services available at the school.
The Information Session will be held in the Auditorium on Thursday, 4 December 2025, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
During this session, families will receive a clear overview of the school’s laptop requirements for 2026. This will include guidance on selecting and purchasing an appropriate device, recommended specifications, and where to access support if assistance is needed. We will also outline the key programs and applications students use in their classes, and provide practical information about setting up a device, troubleshooting common issues, and accessing technical help throughout the year.
In addition, Deputy Principal Agata Evans will present an overview of the comprehensive Student Support Services offered at Cairns State High School. The Student Support Team includes the Year Level Coordinator, the Head of Special Education Services (HOSES), the Guidance Officer, the Head of Department – Curriculum Support, the Clontarf Academy, the Stars Foundation, the Community Education Counsellor (CEC), and the School-Based Youth Health Nurse (SBYHN).
Families will gain insight into how each team and professional supports student wellbeing, engagement, learning, and overall success at school. This session is an excellent opportunity to better understand the supports available and to ask questions about how we can work together to ensure a smooth and successful transition to high school.
