Imran Khan Cancer Appeal - Mount Snowdon Challenge

Boasting some breathtaking scenery, Pen-y-pass is one of the most popular routes up mount Snowdon, and can be quite busy at peak seasons. It starts at the top of Llanberis Path, 359 m above sea level, saving climbers a lot of time and effort. Our ascent on this trek will be through Pyg Track and we’ll be following the Miner’s Track on our descent.

What to Bring:

• Appropriate Clothing: Dress in layers to accommodate changing weather conditions. Make sure you have a waterproof jacket, warm layers, a hat, and gloves.

• Footwear: Sturdy and comfortable hiking boots with good ankle support are essential.

• Backpack: Bring a small backpack to carry essentials such as water, snacks, a first-aid kit, and any personal items you may need.

• Food and Water: While we provide some snacks, please bring your food and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.

Safety and Preparedness:

• Weather: Keep an eye on the weather forecast for Scafell Pike and come prepared for various weather conditions.

• Fitness: Ensure that you are physically prepared for the trek by engaging in regular physical activity and training.

• Emergency Contact: Share your itinerary and emergency contact details with a trusted friend or family member.

Environmental Responsibility:

Respect the natural beauty of Mount Snowdon. Do not litter, stay on designated paths, and be mindful of the environment.

Fundraising:

How much do I need to raise: There is a £150 minimum fundraising amount for each trek. The cost of signing up for a trek is £19.99 (or £50.00 to sign up for all 3 Peaks -saving you £9.97) this will cover event management expenses such as the fees of trek guides, light refreshments for the trek, and first aid. The amount that you raise will go directly to IKCA which will help provide cancer treatment for cancer patients at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) in Lahore and Peshawar.

To make fundraising easier, we recommend setting up a JustGiving page https://www.justgiving.com/Shaukat . It’s quick, easy and saves you having to collect wads of cash. Once you’ve got one, all you’ll need to do is forward your JustGiving page link to friends and contacts, and they can donate online, direct to IKCA. You can also share updates and pictures on JustGiving so everyone who sponsors you can keep track of your progress. Your efforts make a significant impact on our cause, and every contribution counts.
