We’ll spend the weekend hanging out under the pines, swimming in the lake, and settling into camp before heading out to watch the iconic Hell’s Gate Fireworks light up the night sky over Possum Kingdom. It’s loud, it’s bright, it’s epic — and there’s truly nothing else like it.


Sure, there are a few miles of trails (about 3), but this adventure is all about good vibes, great people, and an incredible show you’ll be talking about for years. Grab a chair, bring your favorite camp snacks, and come connect with fellow hikers as we celebrate together in one of the coolest July 4th spots in Texas.


Pro tips: We will gather at Possum Kingdom before heading to YMCA Camp Grady. There is a fee of $10 per person entrance fee (cash only), and no alcoholic beverages or glass containers are allowed. You are more than welcome to bring any food or drinks if you don’t want to enjoy the on-site food trucks. Just keep in mind whatever you bring you will need to carry from your car to the viewing area, which is about a ¼ of a mile away.
