In shared spaces, our understanding of ourselves can deepen, allowing new insight, self-awareness, and opportunities for growth to emerge. Through witnessing both our own creative expression and the experiences of others, we can begin to recognise more clearly who we are and the potential for transformation that exists within us.

ROSE BUSH ART THERAPY GROUP SESSION
The Rose Bush Exercise is a projective art therapy activity that uses guided visualisation, creative expression, and reflective discussion to explore aspects of the self in a safe and symbolic way.
Participants are invited to imagine themselves as a rose bush and consider details such as its size, location, environment, stage of growth, the time of year, the condition of the soil, the presence of flowers or thorns, and any challenges or supports surrounding it. Participants then create an artwork based on their visualisation.
Following the art-making process, participants are invited to share their image by speaking as the rose bush, giving voice to its experiences, needs, strengths, and challenges. This symbolic approach can provide valuable insight into thoughts, feelings, and patterns that may not always be immediately accessible through direct conversation.
The Rose Bush Exercise can help participants explore:
