Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 September | 8:30am–3:30pm each day‍

This immersive two-day masterclass invites participants to explore how the natural world can inform theatre-making and creative practice.

Each day begins outdoors, connecting with Country through observation, movement, sensory awareness and creative exploration.

After lunch, participants move into Byron Theatre to bring these experiences into the rehearsal room through embodied performance, ensemble work and devising.

Across the two days, participants will explore how the rhythms, patterns and intelligence of the natural world can inspire storytelling, movement and performance, developing practical approaches they can bring into their own acting, directing, writing and devising practice.

Please bring your own lunch, warm clothes and bathers!

PLEASE NOTE:

Morning Session is at Wategos Beach

Meet at the BBQ/picnic shelter at Wategos Beach, Marine Parade, Byron Bay NSW 2481 at 8:30am

Parking: Paid council parking is available along Marine Parade, directly behind Wategos Beach. From Byron Bay, follow Lawson Street/Lighthouse Road, continue onto Palm Valley Drive, then turn left onto Marine Parade. Continue approximately 150m to the Wategos parking area. Please allow extra time to find a park, as spaces can be limited. From the parking area, follow the paved path to the picnic tables and BBQ area, where we will meet.

After the morning session, we’ll head into town for our afternoon session at Byron Theatre, Byron Community Centre.
