- **Event Description**: This 50 hour Remedial training has been developed by Maria Kirsten, delivered by Bec Isaacs and Marita Dortins. The program is a chance to gain a deeper understanding of how to integrate a more holistic approach to your yoga. Designed for yoga teachers and yoga students wishing to deepen their knowledge of applied anatomy and working with the individual on all aspects of yoga, not just asana (open to non-yoga teachers).

Course Content
- Explore the key elements of applying Remedial Yoga and functional anatomy to your own practice and teaching
- Understand the 5 Koshas (layers) and use them as a framework for practicing and teaching holistically
- Understand how Remedial Yoga, traditionally taught 1 on 1, can also be implemented into group classes
- Explore the foundations of Asana and the importance of function over form in posture
- Learn how to modify postures for beginners, aging students and people with injuries and limitations
- Develop the skills to teach from a place that is supportive to the individual in the context of safety and trust
- Intro to Yoga for Mental Health and the Polyvagal Theory
- Explore the Krishnamacharya lineage of Vini yoga, the brahmana/langhana model, breath centred asana and Purna Yoga philosophy
- Learn both traditional and contemporary strategies to empower individuals to create beneficial functional movement patterns in the body
- This course will also explore the importance of yogic ethics (the Yamas & Niyamas) as outlined in the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali
- Experiential style learning in early morning and 4pm practical classes

Training Inclusions 
- Shared accommodation in quad-share cabin (ensuite and/or private rooms at an additional cost subject to availability)
- All meals – 3 meals each day, light and delicious sattvic vegetarian cuisine
- Herbal teas and fruit available all day (sweet treats and cold drinks on sale)
- In-person daily training & instruction (varied styles), philosophy talks
- Teacher training manual
- Twice daily yoga – morning and afternoon
- Evening sessions
- Use of the mineral salt swimming pool
- Early morning practices exploring Remedial Yoga principles (asana, pranayama, meditation, chanting & philosophy)
- Theory sessions, Remedial Yoga and person-centred therapeutic approaches to practice
