In 2019, Ballina Bicycle Club (BBC) & Byron Bay Cycle Club (BBCC) will go head-to-head in the first ‘Shire Shootout’ race series. Commencing January 27, this 8 races series will test riders across a mix of disciplines - criterium, road, handicap & individual time trial. Points will be accumulated for placings, participation & volunteering over the 8 rounds in a combined points score across all grades. The points score is only for BBC & BBCC members, though all races are open for participation for any CA members who hold an active race licence or day licence. Following the final round on April 28, the series winner & inaugural recipient of the Shire Shootout series trophy will be presented.

Each round, BBCC & BBC members will be awarded points for placing, participating & volunteering in races. The points scoring system will be consistent for both BBC & BBCC hosted events so there is equal opportunity for each club's members to grab points at each other's events.
At the end of the series, a combined points score (across all grades) series winner will be announced & presented with the 'Shire Shootout' series trophy. There will also be prizes for the series winners in each grade.
