The trunk and core are fundamental to high quality functional movement, and their gateway is the hip joint. This workshop provides a structural and energetic lens through which to look at the hip joint. Explore ways to strengthen and stretch with therapeutic approaches towards this high impact area. Includes solo movement patterns and zenthai bodywork gestures suitable for all.
This workshop is open to all, and will be particularly useful for yoga teachers looking to deepen their understanding of touch and gain confidence having their hands on students. It will also provide an additional hip sequence for graduates of our Advanced Teacher Training Module - Touch.
Gwyn Williams is a movement based therapist who created Zenthai shiatsu 20 years ago. On the surface, Zenthai is a fusion of Zen shiatsu, Thai massage and osteopathic technique, however beneath is an enriched conversation with a vibrant, ever-changing life. The dissolution of division into unity continues to be Gwyn's inspiration and the aspects of community, connection and contribution are at the core of the practice.
Whilst many have been touched by the therapist programs and the multi layered offerings of Zen Thai Shiatsu, the art has evolved to now include a fluid movement-based practice known as Zenthai Flow. For the past two decades Gwyn has inspired thousands of students throughout the world with his continually evolving form, which is based around Thich Nhat Hanh's words: "When you touch one thing with deep awareness, you touch everything." Gwyn's work can be explored through his books 'The Zen of Touch' and 'Connection to Source', the www.zenthaishiatsu.com website or the Zenthai healing centres in Australia and Bali.
