Wolfescote Dale Walk Peak District by Adventure Solos

Wolfescote Dale in the Peak District is a beautiful valley, with the walk following the river running through it.

Along the way, we pass an enchanting little cave looking out onto the valley and river. The walk is circular, with the return loop taking us into Biggin Dale back to Hartington to enjoy a good chat in a cosy pub.
​
The walk is around 5.5 miles (9km), and will take us up to 4 hours. We walk at a steady pace for this hike; a low/moderate level of fitness will suffice.
​
The walk is flat and easy going, following the River Dove through this beautiful and peaceful valley. This walk starts and ends in Hartington Village.
​
I'd also recommend picking up a local Homity Pie in the village; made from potatoes, cheese and onion.
