because from the serenity of the start line at Errwood Reservoir, both our 10km (325m elevation) and 17km (505m elevation) routes make a b-line for the high-altitude and iconic Cat & Fiddle Inn.

It's a 'good honest climb' as our co-founder Tim would say, but what makes all this ascent so worthwhile is that at the summit we'll stop your race time to give you 10-minutes to go inside the Cat & Fiddle Inn where the wonderful folks at @forest_distillery will be putting on a VIP aid station for you and your support crew.

Shortly after restarting on the trail, the course splits sending runners on the 17km route over the highest point in Cheshire to drink in an expansive view of the Dark Peak. The 10km runners have a satisfying downhill ahead of them with a picture postcard view of Errwood Reservoir and the finish line in sight.

The scenary is so amazing that you may not want your time on the trails to end, but once back at race HQ you will be able to redeem the token you collected at the Cat & Fiddle Inn for your complimentary race goodie bag including a well-earnt Forest Distillery pre-mixed can as well as luxury chocolates from the wonderful Buxton based @hot_chocolaterie.
