popolare americana: folk, blues, tex–mex, r&b ed altro ancora.

In ”My Friend Ry”, disco che ha già avuto molte lusinghiere recensioni, Polito reinterpreta alcuni brani di uno dei musicisti, ma anche produttori, più famosi ed apprezzati dell’universo musicale dell’ultimo mezzo secolo, Ry Cooder, senza cadere nella trappola della pedissequa riproposizione di
canzoni rese immortali nell’interpretazione originale dell’autore cui viene reso omaggio.
Un’operazione ardua e per nulla facile, quella compiuta da Polito, ma che alla fine può considerarsi perfettamente riuscita, anche grazie alla presenza di prestigiosi ospiti del calibro del multistrumentista americano Jeff Pevar, dell’armonicista canadese Butch Coulter, così come del pianista e cantante inglese Paul Millns.
