Returning for the 5th year, the popular 20-mile Link Challenge connects all of Bury’s historical villages and is mainly on trail paths passing by a series of iconic landmarks, woodland and open meadow - truly showcasing the stunning green spaces around the town. 

The route passes through the villages of Nangreaves, Holcombe, Hawkshaw, Affetside, Ainsworth and Greenmount. 

This is a non-competitive hike or run challenge where we encourage you to complete the distance with the camaraderie of other like-minded people around you – if you choose so, our friendly guides will be running / hiking the whole route with you to offer a supportive pep talk when required. However, we also won’t be offended if you do want to push on ahead without us. ? 

What's included:

• Finisher Sunnywood neck gaiter 
• Regular check points with ample aid station food and drink supplies
• Secure car parking at the start / finish line.

The Sunnywood Project is an award winning nonprofit organisation offering a wide range of youth programmes and community activities which all aim to utilise the outdoors to enrich people’s lives. 

Proceeds from many of our events help us continue this important work.
