Enjoy the relaxing benefits of hand sewing as you learn the basic elements of quilt making using repurposed fabrics.
Over 4 sessions I will show you how to create four blocks to create the word HOPE. You will learn hand pieceing, raw edge appliqué, hand quiklting, and binding. I provide lots of repurposed fabrics to choose from, samples to refer to, templates to work with so no measuring, diagrams and written instructions for visual learners.
All the equipment you will need is provided and on the first session you will recieve a project bag made by me containing all the templates you will need for the project and a small needle holder with needles and pins.
By the end of the course you will have not only completed your own fab mini quilt, you will have practiced techniques which you'll be able to use at home if you're thinking of taking up quilt making.
The sessions have a really relaxed atmosphere - working with our hands calms our thoughts. Handsewing is a very mindful and satisfying practic and we always have a brew and a snack too to keep us going.
The sessions are suitable for beginners and more experienced stitchers alike. I am a knowledgeable and and patient teacher, I really enjoy sharing my passion for creativity and colour as well as my love of sewing.
I look forward to sewing with you if you fancy coiming along.
