A great concert to start Suffolk Sinfonia's 2026 season!
Under the baton of maestro, Neil Carlson, Suffolk Sinfonia has a programme of popular classics with stories to tell - a beautiful concerto by Max Bruch that never earned its composer a single penny; a symphony by Shostakovich that was banned by the authorities; and a coronation march by Sir William Walton which was initially savaged by the critics. Oh, and some wonderful Brahms that was loved from the off.
The orchestra is delighted to have Karolina Csathy with them to perform Bruch's first violin concerto; one of the most popular concertos in the solo violin repertoire. Karolina has performed internationally in venues such as Cadogan Hall, Andermatt Concert Hall, Budapest Music Center, Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, West Road Concert Hall, Dorking Halls, and St Martin-in-the-Fields - and we hope you will join us in welcoming her to Bury St Edmunds.
