The Community Buddies Cookout is a fun and welcoming event designed to bring children of all abilities together in an inclusive environment. Our goal is to encourage meaningful friendships, promote understanding, and help children develop the social skills needed to build lasting connections with peers who have special needs.

Through shared activities, games, food, and conversation, participants will have the opportunity to learn the value of kindness, acceptance, empathy, and inclusion. This event creates a space where children can interact naturally, celebrate differences, and discover the many things they have in common.

Whether your child already has experience interacting with individuals with special needs or is simply interested in making new friends, we invite them to join us for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and community connection. Together, we can help create a more inclusive community where everyone feels valued, respected, and included.

Come enjoy food, inflatables, activities, and opportunities to build special friendships that can last a lifetime!

If your child plans to attend as a Community Buddy, we ask that they arrive at 1:30 PM for a brief orientation meeting. Attendance at this meeting is very important, as we will review expectations, discuss ways to build positive and meaningful friendships, and go over important guidelines to help ensure a safe and successful event for everyone involved.

We are currently working to secure sponsors to help make this event a success. However, if you would like to contribute by bringing a side dish, dessert, or other item, please send us a message. Any support is greatly appreciated and helps us provide a fun and welcoming experience for all participants.
