Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) Training is required for all 4-H youth showing an animal at the 2026 Harney County Fair. A certificate will need to be provided to the 4-H Office, and each certificate is good for 3 Years, so if you took it last year, you won't need it again until 2028.

This training can be completed online or through instructor-led classes. The cost is $12 if taken online, and $3 for an instructor-led course. If cost is a barrier, please reach out as scholarships are available.

We will be leading multiple instructor-led classes before the fair, the first one is scheduled for April 3, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the OSU Extension - Harney County 4-H Office. You MUST pre-register at https://yqcaprogram.org/ and take the pre-test to attend. For families, a parent can make an account and add children under them.
