- **Event Description**: Welcome to blessed high summer, the longest day of the year!  The sun is at its highest, and thus we’re going to celebrate with a ritual to welcome the sun, followed by a potluck and board games!

What to bring: 1 shareable item to eat, a good source of hydration, one favourite offering cup, chalice or horn, 1 multiplayer board game (optional), perhaps a picnic blanket in case we can’t snag enough tables.  In your heart, bring your favourite solar deity(s) and/or a solar blessing.
WARNING: DO NOT BRING ALCOHOL OR CEREMONIAL KNIVES/BLADES.  CITY REGULATIONS!

The ritual:
At noon, we will gather in a circle near the picnic tables.  We’ll call quarters, and everyone will get a chance to call in their favourite sun deity(s) and say a blessing they’re grateful for.
Then we’ll share an offering of cakes and ale (or in my case, grape juice and pompanon), and offer some libations to the earth.
Then we’ll close and enjoy potluck food in earnest!

The afternoon:
We can break off and play board games or people can partake of their own favourite diversions (tarot, divination, havkeysack, musical instruments, up to you!) as they see fit.  People can also come and go as desired but we’ll call it done for sure by 6 so that people can spend time with their families.
