- **Event Description**: Are you looking ahead to September and planning out extracurricular activities for yourself, you and your partner, your kids, or even the entire family? Look no further than Square Dancing with the Wesburn Wranglers!

Come join us on September 20 and 27 for FREE introductory lessons to Square Dancing! We dance at the Wesburn Community Centre in Central Burnaby from 3-4:30 for beginners, with intermediate level dancing to follow. Our club is an all-ages club with a special emphasis on youth dancing, and our members range from as young as 8 to 90+!

You don't need to wear any fancy clothing or know anything about dancing to give Square Dancing a shot. It's an accessible, low-impact activity and lots of fun on its own, but, as any experienced Square Dancer can tell you, it's the community aspect that really keeps our members coming back from more dancing.

Our complimentary introductory lessons kick off a 13-week series of classes, where you'll learn the entire introductory level of Square Dancing, called Social Square Dancing (or SSD). Once you know SSD, you can participate in fun dance events all around Metro Vancouver--and even, the world! Throughout the year, our club also enjoys special holiday themed practices, team-building social activities, and other fun events that strengthen our community beyond the dance floor. 

We also have a special opportunity available for our youth dancers. This year, the Pacific Northwest Square Dance Festival is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and we are proudly hosting this year's event locally in Maple Ridge! What this means for our youth dancers (up to the age of 21) is that they will be able to train as part of a team to participate in competitive Square Dancing and win prizes. This is a fun event that our group works hard to prepare for every year, and with the event so close to home in 2027, we are hoping for a bigger Wrangler turnout than ever before!
