VT Bennington Alumni Cooperative

VT Bennington Alumni Cooperative

Dear alumni:

Collaboration informed our Bennington experiences as students, and we believe the same is true as alumni.  That’s why we’re inviting you to join us in shaping and building a VT Bennington College Alumni Cooperative group.

As you may know, there are currently seven Alumni Cooperatives where the College has the most concentration of alumni. The groups have been working to engage one another in their regions and connect with the College. It is our aim that the Alumni Cooperative framework deepens the ways that alumni are substantially involved in the life of the College.

Reconnecting to Bennington under President Mariko Silver, as alumni and parents (Phineas ‘21), we are excited to see how students are being challenged to answer a question they have about the world, and in many cases are finding solutions with hands-on work in Bennington and Vermont. As Vermont alumni, many of us know all too well the opportunity Vermont provides as a living laboratory. An Alumni Cooperative could open up new ways for us to connect with each other, as well as ways to reconnect with the College at a crucial time the Bennington approach to problem-solving is needed now, more than ever.

With this goal and with President Silver’s full support, we now ask you to join us as we work to identify the best ways to channel the talents and passions of Bennington alumni in Vermont in a mutually productive way. It’s a priority to explore how to expand the alumni network and increase the impact we have, as a group, on the College, on the world, and with one another.

We hope you will lend us your voices, passions, and ideas. We will be hosting an open meeting this winter, set for Saturday, February 23, 4 pm - 6 pm at the Rights and Democracy office, 241 N. Winooski Avenue, Burlington, VT, to connect with one another and plan programming that is most meaningful to our region. RSVP to attend.

We are excited to be part of Bennington’s future and look forward to getting together, sharing stories, and building this Cooperative together with you.
