Tending Rock Point is a series of workshops where we practice collaborative stewardship and reciprocity with the land at Rock Point. By integrating agricultural activities and ecological restoration throughout the year, we take a holistic view of land stewardship and find our place as humans in the ecology of Rock Point. In each session, we will spend part of our time learning about a topic and the rest of the time working on a project together.
This session will be an orientation to the Rock Point Community Maple program and we will place particular emphasis on tapping trees. Of all the steps in our maple sugaring process, tapping requires the most training to be able to participate effectively. This session is especially intented for folks who are able and willing to help with trapping trees in the couple weeks following.
