Last on the Lane Series in Spring of 2019 with the California Guitar Trio, we knew we’d bring back MG3 as headliners. In addition to their three guitars, these multi-instrumentalists also sing, play the violin, mandolin, bass, and accordion and more. They have been together for over 25 years, performing in major and minor venues throughout the world, perfecting their ensemble. This is multi-genre acoustic music played by artists of their instruments with charm, humor, and incredible mastery.
Their music ranges from Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Rossini, and Falla to Metheny, Haden, Tormé, Guaraldi, and even Piazzolla, De Lucia, Gismonti, Radiohead, the Beatles, Rush and Bowie. They also perform music closer to home, such as Jorane, Dompierre, and Lhasa de Sela, as well as their own original compositions. However, above all, they pay tribute to the great Ennio Morricone, every time and always.
