GBWF Lunch | Put Your Money Where It Matters | Thurs. Mar. 28
Greater Burlington Women's Forum presents: Put Your Money Where It Matters: An Introduction to 'Impact Investing' for Women
If you find yourself asking these questions, this lunch is for you!
How can I, as an individual, directly promote the economic development of Vermont?
I’m not a millionaire but I want to support local businesses, what can I do?
Can I make money through investments while doing good for society and the environment?
Investing can be an intimidating word - it makes us think of ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ and volatile stock markets - but it doesn’t have to be scary. Impact investing (as we’ll talk about it) is about putting your money where your heart is. Whether you have $20 or $200,000 to set aside, our panelists are here to discuss approachable strategies and dispel the myth of ‘investing’ as something reserved for big-shot executives.
Our panelists support individuals looking to manage their money intentionally. During this lunch discussion, we’ll consider a spectrum of impact opportunities such as the power of credit unions, supporting local businesses, and directing your dollars towards women-owned enterprises. They’ll get you thinking about setting aspirational, long-term goals as well as practical steps to take now for putting your assets to work where it matters most to you.
