Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
The Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) is a two-day course designed to provide core-level knowledge and skills associated with the delivery of professional emergency nursing care to the pediatric patient. Lecture topics include: Dealing with Children, Initial Assessment, Triage, Respiratory Distress and Failure, Shock, Rhythm Disturbances, Pediatric Trauma, Child Maltreatment, The Neonate, Childhood Illnesses, Children with Special Health Care Needs, Poisonings, Psychiatric Emergencies, and Crisis Intervention. Skill stations include: Management of the Ill of Injured Pediatric Patient and Pediatric Clinical Interventions. Contact hours are provided by the Emergency Nurses Association.
It is recommended that nurses have at least 6 months of experience in assessing and treating pediatric patients prior to attending the course.
