What a musician! Virtuoso singer, guitarist, composer, vocal acrobat, author, and actress Badi Assad has emerged as one of the most versatile artists of her generation. Her exhilarating original music is both rooted in her native Brazil and inspired by world music of other cultures. As a guitarist, she has beguiled fellow musicians, audiences, and critics worldwide with a combination of technical mastery and creative innovation that has caused many to reexamine their notions about what the instrument can do. And yes, she is an Assad – the sister of classical guitarists Sérgio and Odair – but she has forged her own path in world music and jazz. She is an unforgettable presence on stage, and we are honored to present her in our intimate room where our audience can see this artist who performs with her entire body, heart, and soul.
