1:00 pm: SUNNY LOWDOWN
Sunny Lowdown is a solo blues singer/guitarist who has a long history in the blues. At the age of sixteen he played his first professional gig backing John Lee Hooker. He has since worked with many of his favorite blues musicians: Howlin’ Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumlin, Muddy Waters pianist Pinetop Perkins, Chicago blues legends Otis Rush and George “Wild Child” Butler, Fat Possum recording artists R.L. Burnside and Cedell Davis, and others. In 2018 Sunny Lowdown’s release “Down Loaded” was nominated for a Blues Blast Music Award, and in 2019 Sunny was a winner of the Vermont Blues Society’s Vermont Blues Challenge, which sent him to Memphis for the Blues Foundation’s annual International Blues Challenge.
2:00 All Night Boogie Band
All Night Boogie Band is a blues, rock & roll, and soul-inspired band hailing from the Green Mountains of Burlington, Vermont. Formed in late 2021, the young yet experienced quintet expresses a unique sound full of originality, vigor, and dedication to the
resonance of great American music.
All Night Boogie Band won “Vermont Rising Stars” in the 2023 New England Music Awards and were nominated for “Best Blues Artist” in the 2023 Seven Daysies Awards. 3:30 PM The Nerbak Brothers
The Nerbak Brothers, David and Matthew, are multi-instrumentalists and singers who have been well-known throughout Vermont for over 30 years. In addition to their own act, the Nerbak Brothers, they have supported some of Northern Vermont’s best-loved blues and R&B acts, including the Sandra Wright Band and Bloozotomy, among many others. They also originated some of the Burlington area’s earliest blues jams. Today, they sponsor a very active and well-attended twice-monthly blues jam at Sparky’s Bar and Grill in Essex Junction. They welcome blues musicians and would-be musicians of all abilities to the Red Square stage to help celebrate the last afternoon of Jazz Fest!
