# Event Details - **Event Name**: A Runner's Mind Blue Jean Mile - **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 24 Jun, 2026 at 06:45 pm – Wed, 24 Jun, 2026 at 08:30 pm - **Event Description**: Join us for our annual Blue Jean Mile with ASICS on June 24th at 7pm!About this EventThe Blue Jean Mile started in 2020 when ASICS pro athlete Johnny Gregorek set out to break the world record for the Blue Jean Mile in honor of his brother, Patrick, who lost his battle with mental illness at just 21-years-old in 2019.In 2020, Johnny’s initial goal was to raise $2,500 for the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City, a non-profit organization that became a resource for him after his brother’s passing. But the running community quickly rallied behind Johnny and he blew past his initial goal and ultimately raised over $37,000. He went on to break the record, running the mile in 4:06.25.6:30-6:45pmWe'll be meeting at A Runner's Mind - Burlingame where you can leave your bags/gear while we're running. ASICS will have shoes to demo if you want to try some of their fast racing shoes!6:45pmWe'll head over to the Burlingame High School Track together as a group...our permit begins at 7pm. We'll do a few warm ups at the track to make sure everyone is ready for a fast mile!7:20pmBlue Jean Mile!After the run we'll head back to the shop for pizza and socializing :)Typically we host this event during May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month; because of some logistical reasons, we're excited to still be able to share this special event with our community, in June. We're once again partnering with NAMI - the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which started here in San Mateo County in 1974. All registration money rasied through this Eventbrite page will be donated to NAMI San Mateo County.
