The Withered Acre explores the shadowed crossroads of British folk belief where faeries, witches, spirits, and the Devil converge. Moving beyond modern romanticized witchcraft, this course examines the lived cosmology of early modern Britain: a world shaped by cunning folk, fairy faith, demonology, land-spirits, and Christian magical frameworks. Through historical texts, trial records, folklore, and magical practice, students will gain a grounded, practical understanding of traditional British witchcraft as it was traditionally practiced,
