The Carolwood Foundation will celebrate the 70th birthday of Walt Disney's original Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, on Sunday, July 20 from 11am to 3pm. Joining us will be authors Don Hahn and Christopher Merritt, signing their new book, The Happiest Place on Earth. Copies will be available for purchase at the gift shop.
During your visit you are invited to tour Walt Disney's Carolwood Barn, Walt’s original home workshop and the birthplace of Imagineering. Displays include treasures from the backyard railroads of Walt Disney, Ward Kimball and Ollie Johnston, as well as an operating model of Disneyland's classic Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland attraction.
Also on the property are the restored Santa Fe and Disneyland Railroad combine car and Ollie Johnston's backyard La Canada Valley Railroad depot.�
At 2:30pm you are invited to join us for our formal flag retreat ceremony to signal the close of our operating day.
The Carolwood Foundation opens Walt Disney's barn to the public the third Sunday of each month from 11am to 3pm. At this time, reservations and tickets are not required to visit Walt's Barn and associated displays. Parking is free and available on a first come, first served basis.
