MAURA LOGUE COSTUME DESIGNER BASED IN DONEGAL, is well known in the North-west of Ireland for her specialist service, under her Dark Daughter label, to companies as a Costume Design & Hire Business woman. Dark Daughter Costuming is the leading costume company in the North West of Ireland. The company specialises in Irish Styles with Historic /Vintage & Retro Collections. Maura has been collecting costumes for 30 years and has many fabric and costume stories to share. Her work is renowned for its attention to detail and focused service. Be it Costumes for Theatre, Film, Animated Histories or Community or Education Events, Maura has a vast experience in many varied aspects of Fabric & Styling for diverse productions.

Maura also services her own original production works, all themed around honouring forgotten women in Irish & Anglo Irish Histories. From design to management from mentoring to collaborations, the company is never idle. A niche market business, one where a need to be inventive & passionate has it’s value. Donegal has been evolving, as a favourite location for short & feature length Films. Maura has been part of that new evolving culture. She was Costume Designer on Horseshoe filmed in the NW a few years ago. Maura’s costume pieces were used for “Wilde Mountain Thyme” with Jamie Doran, The Man with The Urn with Ciaran Hines, and a number of Hallmark Films. Maura services Short Films also and has a passion for small budget shorts in a NW location.

Some past successes include Dark Daughter’s curation of an Edwardian Camogie Player for Croke Park Museum. The Ballytour Project where Maura pioneered Animated Histories in the NW, with a visual feast of Costuming with an Irish flavour. Dark Daughter Vintage Costuming in Glenveagh were much admired by tourists and visitors.

Maura continues to costume for Theatre and live performance . She has supported design and costume management for Blue Raincoat Theatre Company, The Glens Art Centre, The Yeats Society Sligo, The Hawkswell Theatre Sligo ATU Sligo, Creative Heartland Co Leitrim Donegal Co Co Leitrim Co Co & Sligo Co Co Maura’s ethos is to service and develop costuming awareness & accessability in the NW. Her work is respected and valued by agencies museums heritage groups & theatres north and south of the Border.

Maura is an educator and likes nothing more than engaging with students and those in apprenticeships, wishing to know more about the varied and diverse world of fabric and costuming looks and the adaptation of Vintage styles for Live Performance.
